This is a fascinating shaped basket item used for the sport Jai Alai. This piece has a long curved canoe like shape with an attached leather glove that allows one to wear this enormous long scoop firmly in the hand. Its a beautiful and intriguing item for decor on a shelf or wall hanging.
Overall the condition is very good. There are a few places on the underside were a small section of the outer wicker is missing. The thread woven at one end is also loose in some sections. The glove has some spots that look like water marks. The color is good. There are no stains. It doesn’t feel brittle.
