This listing is for a hand built decorative teapot form inspired by vegetation. This teapot is built from thin slabs of low fire clay and treated with multiple layers of engobes (colored clay slips), oxide, underglaze and glaze washes. It is sculptural, tactile and quite painterly.

This vessel, while it has all makings of a functional pot, is mostly decorative. Because it is fired at a low temperature range, I would not recommend using it for utilitarian purposes.

This particular teapot is of a “celebrity” status; images of this pot were included in the “500 teapots” book published by Lark Books.
