These batts are a series of 5 colors of supersoft Merino wool overlaid on a background of burgundy Merino, including a dash of sparkle to mimic the late frost on the leaves (approximately 99% Merino, 1% sparkly Firestar). The colors are overlaid and don't show completely on the surface of the batt so there will be some surprises as you work through the batt. Wonderful fiber to spin or felt! Driving home last week, I noticed the neighbors had two very stubborn oak trees that just wouldn't give in to the frost. They still had green, gold and red leaves holding on against a background of deep red maples. It was an irresistible combination and so I HAD to come home and make batts in those colors.

My fiber comes from a smoke-free home with a cat in residence. While he has no access to my studio, his hairs DO manage to drift into the strangest places.

Spinning batts, 1.2 oz of Merino wool. Experience the last stubborn colors of an Autumn Oak.
