This sculpted wooden jewelry box is adorned with a beautiful Paua abalone inlay.
Each piece is painstakingly finished, hand polished, and individually signed. They are lined with genuine Ultra-suede, a non-tarnish lining. This box is a perfect size for watches, necklaces, bracelets, small desk accessories, etc.

The shape of the scallop is known as ‘pectin’, a Latin word for comb. Pliny, a Roman philosopher, gave scallops the name because their round outline with ribs radiating outwards reminded him of a style of comb popularly used during the Roman Empire.

The finish I use is a CAB acrylic lacquer from Sherwin Williams with the vinyl sealer base coat. I often use paste wax with steel wool to make the piece feel better to the touch and to bring out the sheen.
Very little care if any is necessary aside from removing dust occasionally. You can use an air canister if you like. You may also use any wax type polish to bring out the sheen. If alcohol or a chemical gets on the piece, wipe off immediately. Letting a chemical sit will ruin the finish.
The leather lining I use is a synthetic suede called Ultrasuede. It can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.
Custom orders are accepted based on wood type only, unless a large quantity is desired. My boxes are all made in batches and are not conducive to size changes. I can do monograms as seen in this listing:
