This quilt is constructed from reproduction prints of the 17th century, which I collected over a period of many years. The name of the quilt is Tobacco Rose, after the group of fabrics that first inspired the quilt.

Lap size: 54 Inches square

I searched for the perfect setting for these wonderful fabrics and finally based the quilt on a “blended quilt” pattern by Marsha McClosky. This medallion style quilt was popular in the 1700's, as were the colors used in this quilt. It was a challenging pattern to make, however, the final product is quite stunning. This is a quilt for quilt-lovers.

Border fabric: Voices of the past by Kaye England (SSI)
Backing: Quilted Treasures reproduction print, flat hanging sleeve attached
Batting: Quilters Dream Needle Punched Poly

The quilting was done using premium cotton thread in both a meandering and feather pattern.
The edges are bound with a double fold binding in coordinating fabric that is machine stitched to the front and hand stitched to the back.

I will gladly ship to Canada, please convo me for an accurate shipping price.

This quilt was designed and sewn in my cat free, smoke free home. I do have one very special cocker spaniel.
