Listing is for a hand dyed hemp linen fabric bundle for quilting, fiber arts, sewing, or home decor. These fabrics were made using an authentic batik technique involving the application of melted wax prior to hand dyeing.

Size: Two 14" by 18" hemp linen pieces

Hue: Blue greys

Technique: Batik

Fiber: 100% hemp linen

Patterns featured are Mesa, a native American design; and Mums, my interpretation of contemporary mum flowers.

Both are blue grey, Mesa being a lighter value blue grey than Mums.

Why use hemp? Hemp is a fiber that can be grown with far fewer pesticides, herbicides and water than conventional cotton. It grows quickly and chokes out weeds growing around it. It is considered to be one of the most sustainable fibers currently available.

You'll love using these fabrics in a fiber art piece. They have a much looser threadcount than my high threadcount cotton. I use all of them extensively for my stitched shibori, and can attest to their quality and suitability for hand sewing.

These fabrics are colorfast and preshrunk. You do not need to wash them prior to use.

Please contact me with any questions. More hemp and/or silk bundles here:
