This is an "almost vintage" apron because I used fabric from a damaged 40s tablecloth. Mostly white cotton, it has colorful retro Mexican motifs near the hem.

Adapted from a 50s apron pattern, I call this style a "gathering apron" because the hem has a drawstring that, when pulled tight, turns the bottom of the apron into one big pocket. Nice & functional, but cute too!

The apron has a drawstring at the neck to make the size adjustable. I added a patch pocket on the hip, and twill tape tie ends at either side.

I always pre-wash my fabric before I sew with it. In this case, I soaked the tablecloth like crazy and dried it in the sunshine to try to remove the stains. I was mostly successful but there's still a few faint ones that I couldn't get out. One is about bust level near the edge.

Machine wash and tumble or line dry. Ironing is optional.

Front length is 30" from neck to hem.
Side to side at the widest point- 25"
Each tie end measures 37"
