There are few things better than a kids book that has the audience howling with laughter, and this book meets that desciption. Little ones love books that are ridiculous and where THEY know more than the characters. This goofy story (by Ann Seidler and Jan Slepian, with art by Richard E. Martin), has a friendly, non scary monster who comes to a medieval-ish town with a sign around his neck saying FEED ME. Trouble is, the townsfolk can't understand his requests for hookies, gollypops and shmancakes. After some daffy translations by the local chef and wise man a little boy saves the day with correct interpretations of the monster's wishes. A classic at our house, this is one that my 3 year old asks for again and again and again. And now I can offer this extra copy to you, so that your wee one can share in the joy too! This would make a stellar read aloud for a preschool class as well.

This copy is a 1967 paperback (never issued in hardcover to my knowledge) by Scholastic Book Services. It is in nice condition. The pages have some age tanning, some have dogears in the bottom corner. Cover is clean with some creasing. A decent copy of an unforgettable book, usually priced much higher but this price reflects the creases.

reserved, thanks!
