This bowl is nicely finished and though not heavy, quite sturdy.

Finally, a non-plastic, non-aluminum food safe wood bowl that can withstand some abuse! It should be very nice for things like popcorn, pasta, porridge, and so forth.

Wood bowls should not be soaked in water since they will absorb it, and can be hard to dry out without damage, but can be easily sponged out and then dried. Should this bowl ever crack or splinter, it should be retired from table use for safety reasons.

This bowl is finished quite smooth to enhance the look and feel as well as to facilitate cleaning. It looks and feels great!

The wood is quite hard. I believe the species to be black locust. It was salvaged from a pile of wood left by tree trimmers clearing power lines.

It is about 6" in diameter at the rim and 1 3/4" high.

This bowl has a traditional hand rubbed Tried & True Danish Oil finish.

Tried & True Danish Oil is pure, highly refined Polymerized Linseed Oil. It is 100% solids, solvent free, and contains no heavy metal driers.
