What a wonderful piece of history! There is no doubt in your mind that this doll represents a native woman of ethnic origin. What an ingenious idea it was to use dried loofah and seeds when making this old folk art doll. With a dress made of a red/ white and blue cotton print trimmed in a piece of some old yellow fabric, hard plastic tubing arms and legs wired onto the body, with brass rings as earrings. The crudely painted facial features give you another reason to love her... She is graciously holding out a basket of fruits. Measuring 9 1/4" tall x 8" at the widest point of the skirt, this piece of american folk art has lots of life left, and will bring smiles to the faces of others for years to come!
