I've had this stone for a good long time and couldn't decide how I wanted to set it. It seems obvious now, but it was tricky to decide how to orient the the stone, and whether I should add more to the piece or not. In the end I allowed the stone to speak for itself, and I just followed the natural flow within the piece.

This stone has great colors that are less common in ocean jasper, a rich brown base, rings of white and tan and a touch of slate blue here and there. The field of brown at the center of the stone reminds me of horn, it's got such a patina'd feel.

The hand fabricated bezel is made with an open back, when help up to the light the upper section of brown appears more translucent allowing you to see a dark green color not otherwise obvious in the stone, this area is more crystallized and therefore has a small open section on the surface of the stone (this pocket can be seen in some of the photos).

The stone measures 2" x 1 1/8" (at it's widest points) and hangs on a 17.5" round link chain. Length can be adjusted (within 3") at no additional cost to the buyer, please make a note of changes at checkout.

All pieces are made in my home studio using sterling silver and natural stones. Every piece is shipped with a gift box.
