Ancient fossilized sharks' teeth are natural history you can hold in your hand! You'll get 25 cool little teeth ranging in size and shades of steely blue gray and brown. Most are no bigger than a half-inch (1.27 cm) long, and many are really teeny-tiny. I'll send you a mix of sizes and colors.

These are real fossil teeth, and ready for you to use in art or craft projects, school show-and-tell, or just to collect and display in your home. Give them away as stocking stuffers or hide them in dirt to let the kids play paleontologist. Put one in your pocket for good luck! They make a cool sound when you clink them together.

They are probably mostly too small to wire-wrap for necklaces, but might have other jewelry uses. Be sure to look at all the photos to better see the scale.

I don't know the source of these teeth, but the most commonly found sharks' tooth fossils are from the Cenozoic Era, which would make them 65 million years old--definitely vintage! My mom kept them in bowls on her coffee table, and she loved to pick them up and play with them. She'd also give them as gifts to visiting kids.

The photos are representative of the mix of 25 teeth you'll receive, but they won't be exactly the same. If you would like more teeth, just let me know!

Shark tooth collecting goes back as far as Pliny the Elder, who thought they fell from the sky during lunar eclipses. During the Renaissance, the teeth were believed to be petrified tongues of dragons and snakes and could cure poisoning and snake bites. Many noblemen and royalty wore these "tongue stones" as pendants or kept them in their pockets as good-luck charms. Several cultures used the teeth to create nasty-looking weapons.
