This vintage table runner has an Asian theme embroidered on white linen with blue embroidery thread. The person who made this runner had a steady hand and perfect stitch. It looks like 22 count fabric which would make it very difficult to embroider.

I purchased this textile from a woman who said she bought it in rural Pennsylvania at a yard sale. I loved it the minute I saw it. We both examined it for spots and only came up with a few very light stains (see 4th pic). They are not rust type stains which would be hard to get out. If it was mine, I'd just leave them in because it is so wonderful no one will notice them.

The runner measures 17"(43.1cm) wide and 54"(137.1cm) long. There is a fabric label that says, "Alice Jeffer" sewed to the back. The fabric looks to be a lightweight fine linen. I can only guess to the date it was done so I won't even try.

The is a fabulous piece and Alice Jeffer was an artist!
