Vintage Pleated Pottery Vase Jardinière in Chartreuse Green

This is a pretty tapered vase with a simple pleated pattern to the sides. This unmarked pottery was part of a series in this design, as we have seen it before in other sizes.

This particular vase stands 6 inches tall and 3 1/2 inches wide at the mouth. It is by some American US pottery maker of the 1950s or earlier, possibly McCoy, Shawnee, or similar.

It is pretty, especially if you like light green and is a nice size for a small bouquet of flowers. It shows crazing on the inside of the vase, typical of its age, and a bit of crazing and slight discoloration in the crazing that is beginning to form around the outer top edge. Also, there is a dark green mark in the glaze where, perhaps a paintbrush touched the side prior to firing. You can see this in the photo. It is not chipped, cracked, broken, and only shows some very slight, and very small chippage on the outer edge of the pleats at the top.

Great for its color and simple design, and still, albeit not perfect, a very nice vintage piece of American pottery.
