This is a custom PC board I designed that you can use to make your own homebrew NES games with, or repair old games that no longer work. This board can be used to make AxROM, BNROM, CNROM, GNROM, NROM, and UxROM games. Just solder the pads on the board, and solder the appropriate parts on the top of the board! Please note that while the 74-series chips, CIC, CHR RAM, and 28-pin PRG or CHR ROM chips (64K or smaller, NOT 128K) from the original boards can be used on this board, 32-pin ROM chip(s) have a different pinout and can't be transplanted without manual rewiring.

Capacitors should be rated at 16V or higher.

This board accepts the 27C series of EPROM, from 27C256 to 27C080. It also accepts flash memory chips like the 39SF010, 020, and 040. ROMs should be padded to fill up the entire space of the chip, by duplicating the ROM (for example, a 128K ROM on a 1M device should be duplicated eight times).

Here are a list of parts you will need based on the game type you want to make.
NROM: 2x ROMs (CHR and PRG)
CNROM, GNROM: 2x ROMs (CHR and PRG), 74HC161
BNROM: 1x ROM (PRG), 1x SRAM (CHR, 6264 series), 74HC161
AxROM: 1x ROM (PRG), 1x SRAM (CHR, 6264 series), 74HC161, 74HC02
UxROM: 1x ROM (PRG), 1x SRAM (CHR, 6264 series), 74HC161, 74HC32
You will need a CIC (or a clone CIC on ATTINY13) to play on non-top-loader NES consoles. Also, you will need one electrolytic capacitor (C1, 22uF) and one ceramic capacitor (C2 - C7, 100nF) for each chip you use on the board.

The first time you start your game up, if it does not immediately boot up, you should press the reset button 5 to 10 times. The CIC needs to be reset a few times in order to obtain the correct region.

This board is perfect for any NES developer. Everything is explained thoroughly both on the board and online, and turning a game you've made into a real product is a wonderful first soldering project. Just a few ICs, a few capacitors, and a couple pads to join and everything just works!
