You're going to love this versatile all season felted scarf in a 50/50 merino/silk open weave. In the summer you can toss it on over a tank or tee. During the rest of the year wear it with a sweater, turtleneck or jacket.

It's wonderfully soft and light weight so it drapes beautifully as you can see in the photos. This scarf looks great tied in the trendy European loop, around a turtleneck or just draped around the neck. It's even long enough to wrap this one around your neck a few times or tie around your waist.

It's in a multicolor color palette with neutrals and a touch of teal - turquoise. You can wear it as an accent with both "classic" and "casual" styled linen or wool pieces in the natural color family.

And if you would like to add some color to your wardrobe, this color would coordinate nicely with charcoal, slate, black and of course denim, blue jeans !

I created this color palette by mixing tan, island blue and a touch of black washfast silk dyes and hand painted on to 50/50 merino/mulberry silk roving. The island blue was highly diluted and resulted in teal and turquoise. And the tan yielded some amazingly wonderful colors such as sand, khaki, pale yellow, celadon, and with the touch of black a pearly ash gray. The sand and sea color palette reminds me of the near by Neshotah Beach.

After dyeing the fibers I laid them out into an open weave lattice with fringe ends on all four sides. I reinforced some intersections near the edges with hand stitching and metallic beads (photo 4).
