This miniature vase was shaped and finished by hand on a wood lathe by IGMA Artisan, Bertie Pittman.

The wood is a product know as Colorwood. It is made up from dyed wood veneers sandwiched & glued together under pressure.

Very interesting effects, with dramatic & unique results, can take place while turning this material. I've included photos so you can see the different patterns of colors and shapes exposed on each quadrant of the vase.

This colorful vase will contribute to any collection or serve just as well as stand alone display.
