I love older architecture. St. Louis has a lot of it, especially from the Victorian era. My art studio is in a very old part of St. Louis called the Soulard neighborhood. It is just south of downtown St. Louis, in the inner city. This painting is of 2 of the old homes that are just blocks from my studio.

Notice how I used knife painting techniques to show the texture of the stone steps. If you take a good look at many other architectural renderings, it becomes apparent that knowledge of accurate linear perspective is missing. I have had training in all types of perspective, including linear, and it is evident in my work. I am also juxtaposing horizontal and vertical lines, as well as combining straight geometric forms with undulating, organic natural forms. See how the house on the right glows through the dark foliage in front of it.

The size is 20 inches high by 16 inches wide. It's standard size makes it very easy to purchase a ready made frame at Michael's or Hobby Lobby, as well as at fine framing shops. This is done on a gessoed hard masonite panel created specifically for painting.

I use only high quality professional artist materials. My favorite paints are Windsor and Newton, (made in England) which are widely known in the art world for their lightfast, permanent, archival qualities. I also use Gamblin, Rembrandt, and Van Gogh paints, which are European made and professional artist quality.

I take special care when shipping. The item very carefully packed and shipped to prevent damage. Shipping fee includes labor and material costs of packaging, priority shipping, tracking and insurance.
