This is very clean fiber from my own llama "Starlight". It can be used in many ways from felting to weaving. Llama fiber spins and wet felts very easily. It produces a soft, warm, durable yarn that will develope a fuzzy "halo". It works very well for making knitted and fulled items such as rustic looking bags or vests.

Llama fiber by itself does not have the elasticity of wool but if you have a carder you could create your own unique blends. Because it is easily felted, wash any garment you make from your handspun with care in lukewarm water. This fiber has not been commercially dehaired or undergone carbonization. Trace amounts of vegetation may be present. The roving was prepared at Frankenmuth Woolen Mill in Michigan. Starlights' fiber was black in her younger days but now she has gracefully aged to more than 15 years and has greyed to a dark charcoal color with white guard hairs.

More roving from Starlight is available. Please contact the shop if you need a larger amount.
