Beautiful Mantle/Hearth clock made from a hand hewn beam from a 1830's Ohio barn. This clock is made from American Wormy Chestnut, this tree species was virtually wiped out by a blight at the end of the 1800's. This wood is prized for its rarity, beauty, and the incredible character produced by the numerous tiny worm holes that were in the live trees . This clock has the hand hewn chop marks made by a pioneer farmer almost 200 years ago on all 4 sides. This piece measures 12 1/2" tall x 9 wide x 5 1/2" deep.

This clock is signed and numbered on the underside with a description of its history and origin. A brochure comes with this clock that explains the history and characteristics of American Wormy Chestnut , also there are photos of the specific barn prior to and during its removal, there is even a 1982 newspaper article on the barn ( which was 150 years old at that time ) and shows Farmer Winston painting the barn on a pretty fall day. I also include a framed photo of the Winston barn from the 1940's. At that time it was being used as a sawmill and has giant trees stacked in front of it.
This clock has a high quality battery operated quartz movement for years of accurate and trouble free service. This clock has a 6" dial which is white with very easy to read black Arabic numerials
this mechanism pulls straight out for easy battery change with a glass crystal. This is a great gift for any historian, woodworker, or barn/farm lover. I can only ship within the United States

THREE GREAT FEATURES OF THIS CLOCK ARE, ITS GOT VERY COOL CHOP MARKS ON ALL FOUR SIDES, IT HAS A PEG HOLE IN THE SIDE AND I INCLUDE A SLICE OF A BARN PEG WITH IT, AND THE TOP HAS A "TIGER PATTERN" IN ITS GRAIN, ITS HARD TO CAPTURE IN A PHOTO BUT ONE CLOSE UP SHOWS IT, THE PATTERN IS MUCH MORE LIVELY IN PERSON

I really enjoy making these beautiful pieces. Please click on my ''Feedback'' and you will see previous buyers saying, (and I quote), AWESTRUCK !, LOVE IT, ABSOLUTELY STUNNING, BEAUTIFUL, GREAT SELLER, EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS, EXCELLENT WORKMANSHIP, WONDERFUL, AMAZING, THRILLED, CHARMING, TREASURE, GORGEOUS, VERY COOL.

REALLY COOL HAND HEWN CHOP MARKS ON ALL FOUR SIDES
SURE TO BECOME A FAMILY HEIRLOOM
