This piece was fired for three days to 2500°f in my groundhog kiln. All glaze is from the natural process of wood firing. lots of liquid glassy green pine drip glaze. dimensions 10,3/4" tall 6" wide 5" base.

Firing ceramics in a wood kiln is a very involved process, from the stacking of the ware in the kiln, to stacking of four plus cords of slab-wood ( scraps from a local sawmill ). The fire in the kiln needs to be maintained at a temperature of 2300 °f for several days, sometimes reaching 2500 °f. This means continuously stoking the kiln every 15 minutes. The end result is a truly unique one of a kind object that has been painted with fire.
