Antique Silverplated Copper Basket

Very charming lines and so many beautiful art nouveau details. Delicious tarnish. These baskets used to be called Bride's Baskets andused to be given to brides at weddings to receive the calling cards of the guests or to put on tables and fill with desserts.

I'd say this was in excellent vintage condition, especially considering it's over 100 years old. No chips or cracks, and the handle works well. It is a bit warpy, as seen especially in photo 4. It has a slight bend in it which doesn't detract from the usability at all. Very grungy, needs a good cleaning!

Made by the Derby Silver Company.

12" high, 10" wide.
