Zanesville, Ohio is deservedly proud of the world's foremost Y-shaped bridge, which spans the confluence of the Licking and Muskingum Rivers. This 12" x 9" stoneware platter commemorates the 1901 version of this architectural curiosity, with a screened (or transferred) design in tones of blue, orange and green, on a creamy white glaze, which is nicely crazed with age. From the style of the artwork, we're guessing that it was made in the 1940's or 50's.
