Gorgeous large Cafe Au Lait bowl with a deep wine-red floral motif on a creamy background. Quintessentially French, and large enough to hold a hefty serving of soup, or salad, or even cafe au lait (!!), this beautiful bowl makes such a fine display piece.

There are the typical glaze irregularities for an old artisanal pottery piece and a couple of minuscule flea bites, but nothing detracts from it's time-worn magnificence! There is a symbol (S ?) and a number 1 incised/stamped into the base which you can see in the 4th photo. Wonderful red scallops encircle the sweet pedestal base. From base to rim it is 3 & 3/4ths inches tall and it measures 6 & 1/2 inches across the rim.

A stunning addition to any French Faience collection or a fantastic start on a new passion!
