I put great care into making this pen. I started with high-end components. The metal I used was rhodium. Why? Rhodium is one of the most durable metals you can use…it lasts a lifetime…actually longer. It gives this pen a distinguished look.

The rhodium is accented with 22kt gold. The center band and end piece on cap) have 22kt gold plated hand cast design.

This pen for sale was hand turned on my lathe using carbide tools to shape the malachite/azurite try stone body and then further turned to exact specifications. It was sanded with 150,240,340,400, and 600 grade sandpaper separately and then the polishing began. I wet polished it up to 12,000 to get a glass like finish. Liquid polish was used next to bring a gleam on the surface. Finally I gave it 2 coats of carnauba wax, a very durable wax to maintain a shine. Lastly, I used 2 coating of renaissance wax (a museum wax) . Renaissance Wax was originally developed in association with the British Museum for restoration and protection of art treasures, and is a superb micro-crystalline polish ideal for use in the shop.

The pictures are the actual pen for sale. This rollerball pen for sale features an "effortless" thread system and a very refined look. This fountain pen has threaded end cap that makes attaching the pen cap to the pen quick and easy.

Malachite is a famous and very popular semi-precious stone. It is named for the Greek word for "mallow", a green herb. Its banded light and dark green designs are one-of-a-kind, and give it a unique ornamental quality unlike that of any other stone. The light and dark green bands are so distinctive that malachite maybe one of the most easily recognized minerals by the general public. A popular design of ceramicware which imitates this banding is named after the mineral malachite. It forms the banding from subtle changes in the oxidation states of the surrounding pore waters, but the exact mechanism is still not well understood.

Azurite is an intense deep blue color with a Mohs hardness between 3 and 4. Different sources claim the name is derived from the Persian word lazhward or from the Arabic word azul, both of which mean blue. It often occurs with malachite, chrysocolla or turquoise in areas with copper deposits. A rare form called "Bluebird", has dark red Cuprite mixed with azurite - notice the triangular shaped stone in the bottom left of the collage. Azurite is found in Australia, Chile, France, Mexico, Morocco, Nambia, the southwestern USA, and Zaire.
For thousands of years this stone has been used in jewelry and ornamental objects. During the Middle Ages and Renaissance it was ground into pigment for use in paint and eye shadow.
