Fabulous Chinese / Asian influence - Art Deco era, c1930 - faux carved ivory bead choker with sterling silver faux cinnabar carved panel. I have tested both the beads and the panel on the clasp / central pendant - they are apparently of man made materials - the white beads are probably bakelite - the red 'cinnabar' panel is some sort of hand carved material - not molded or formed. Necklace measures a nice choker length of 14.5 inches - each bead separated by a textured gold spacer bead - not tested - assume gold fill - each white / ivory colored bead measures approximately 15mm in diameter. The clasp is a heavy sterling silver 1 1/8 x 7/8 x 3/8 inches marked 'sterling' - assume even though it has the hidden clasp - it is to be worn in the front as the pendant jewel - prong set with hand carved floral red panel - assume faux cinnabar. Necklace weighs 2 ounces - tarnished as I found it - good original wearable condition - has been restrung - white silk knot shows at one bead.
