This RARE antique floor lamp has all the ornamental fine elements of the Arts & Crafts era, about 1890 to 1910 era.

There couldn't be a more pure Arts & Crafts base ~ with the fleur de lis , the hammered iron , the burnished copper bronze finish over the hammered iron with its original dark copper brown cold paint up the twisted rope stem, to all the decorative pyramid knob nail head rivets.

It is unusally heavy for a floor lamp. There are remnants of green cold paint on the top finial and bridge work. Rivets pattern throughout are on the top and sides of the iron work.

It has appropriate age wear to the finish and cold paint wear on the pole, a patina that comes only with time and use. The cloth cord is in excellent condition, like new, and is generously appx 144 inches long. The pull switch is original antique and in perfect working order. It is possible this lamp was professionally rewired with authentic cloth cord. No metal lamp parts look replaced. We always recommend having it checked by a lamp professional to be safe, but after examining it I am 99.9% confidant this is 'ready to use' in its current condition.

This is embossed / signed Schwartz Bro underside the base along with numbers.

60 " tall with a 13 " bridge and a 2 " shade ring.

The lamp shade is an antique original reverse painted shade with gorgeous hues of sunset oranges, plum mountains, a lilac river on both sides and trees all around. It is in excellent condition as well. It is well preserved with only the normal age signs ( a few flea bites on rim), No scratches, No cracks, and No loss to the reverse paint. It pivots 360 degrees, meaning back and forth to right and left, on its ring, and holds at the tilt you want. It is as beautiful turned off as it is turned on....the colors stay rich & true. See all photos.

This would look stunning in an Arts & Crafts home or Greene & Greene Bungalow beside a Morris Chair or Gustav Stickley bookcase or lovely leather club chair. This lamp is so unusual in its representation of the Arts & Crafts era, it is sure to authenticate and beautifully complete a Mission Bungalow decor. Arts and Crafts desk table lamps are much more easily found than a true arts and crafts bungalow floor lamp.

Continued research of the Schwartz Bros to see if they commissioned work for the Roycrofters or for the Stickley Brothers is ongoing.
