On offer is a set of 4 bread plates or small dessert plates in mid-19th century transferware plates depicting a bird sitting in a tobacco tree. The colors are remarkably beautiful, in rich buttery leather brown, and magenta on black transfer engraving. Marked " Ashworth Brothers, Hanley, England," with a serial number hand painted in red.

They measure 5 inches in diameter, and are in perfect condition. Just lovely -- perfect to hang on the wall or use as an accent on the table.
