The Fihankra (the compound house) symbolizes protection, security, and spirituality. The design resembles the typical architecture of an AKAN house, which is rectangular with a central courtyard. The Akan home is shared by all members of the extended family, therefore, the Fihankra also represents closeness of family and unity.

The image was deeply engraved (sandblasted) on the face of this red jasper stone and filled with metallic black paint. The pendant is 30x40mm (1.18 x 1.57 in). The lovely bail is sterling silver (0.925).
