This is a coptic bound notebook that opens completely flat making it easy to write or draw in. Covered with beautiful khaki colored linen. 84 smooth very light pearly gray pages (thicker than standard copy paper) sewn with waxed natural linen thread. Perfect for little notes or sketches; small enough to be carried with you everywhere!

4.3"x6"x0.9" (10,8x15,2x2,3cm)

Master bookbinder quality, hand made with great attention to detail.

This type of binding was first used by early Christians, the Copts (hence the name), in the first centuries AD. It is the first known codex style binding, a book that consists of folded sheets of paper bound together instead of, for example, simple loose sheets or of paper (or papyrus or parchment) rolled into a scroll. This binding technique isn’t just a quirky old way of making books – many modern bookbinding machines imitate this ingenious way of linking pages together – but a wonderful piece of living history.

Please note that due to differences in monitors your book may differ slightly in color from what you see on your screen. I do my absolute best to represent the colors as accurately as possible.
