Vintage Umbrella Plaid with Lucite Handle

This stylish vintage umbrella, from the late 1940s to 1950s, is red, black, and yellow plaid with a Lucite handle, a wooden shaft, and 16 metal spokes. The material is acetate and is shining and bright (the plaid also includes some brown, gray, and white).

The handle is clear Lucite in a kind of stylized faux bamboo design. There's a black (slightly frayed) strap on the handle. The umbrella has a small tag with a union label and Made in U.S.A.

The umbrella is in good condition. The spokes are all straight, and it works pretty well, but several of the spokes are not attached to the fabric at the end; one is missing the plastic tip that would be necessary to attach it to the fabric. There's one small hole in a seam, but no pinholes in the fabric (just a few small snags). Note that this umbrella could probably be mostly fixed, but still might be better for display than for facing up to the elements.

Size: The total length is 24 inches (61 cm). The diameter when opened is about 33 1/2 inches (85 cm).
