"A room is like a stage. If you see it without lighting, it can be the coldest place in the world." - Paul Lynde

This Moe Brothers art deco lamp is made as a desk lamp (also known as a piano lamp), though it measures slightly larger than a typical piano lamp. Manufactured in "Industrial Green," this lamp boasts the classic art deco styling and industrial practicality.

The light works and glows in a flourescent pinkish color. I'm sure the bulb could be replaced but the current one works well (though it takes a second to warm up).

The lamp is in "well-loved" condition when it comes to the patina. The base wobbles just a little bit, and the majority of the lamp is covered in patches of rust (see the photos). The patina definitely adds charm and character to this fabulous piece of history.

The Moe Brother company is well known for its quality lighting fixtures. Here's a little history on the company from http://www.answers.com/topic/thomas-industries-inc#ixzz1fEeRBFCt.

"The lighting fixture side of Thomas Industries traces its history back to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and two brothers: Henrik and Ole Moe. The Moe Brothers, together with a number of other entrepreneurs, owned the Moe-Bridges Co., a lighting fixture manufacturer formed in 1919. As a result of friction among the Moe-Bridges management, however, the Moe brothers were frozen out of the company in the late 1920s by the majority owners. Deciding to stay with the industry they knew, the Moes formed another lighting fixture company called Moe Brothers Manufacturing. Henrik's two sons joined the business in the early 1930s, and in 1938, the company moved its operations from Milwaukee to Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin."
