Recycled Records Molded and Painted Bowl LP Vinyl Handmade art bowls from recycled records.

MULTIPLE USES; for bath products on the bathroom counter; keys, rings etc; popourri; food; a display item either on a table or on the wall.

We do not murder music. Our records come from individuals, flea markets and goodwill. We use LP's that are usually scratched or have no jackets, therefore are considered unsellable.

First the record is cleaned and dried, then one side is painted with acrylic paint and once thoroughly dry the other side is painted. Then we use an oven to melt the painted record and form it with a bowl or tray. The oven needs to be on a very low temperature and the area must be ventilated. Records generally have a life of their own and no two will fold and shape the same way. Once hardened, the bowl is then sprayed with a coat of shellac to protect the paint and label. Each side has to be sprayed and then dried. We can only spray during low humidity and certain temperature ranges as we have to do this outside.

This is a timeconsuming, but amazing, process as the bowl comes to life.

Please note that Record bowls are for novelty purposes and are not dishwasher or microwave safe. You can use them for DRY FOOD and other items. It is best to use a damp paper towel to wipe down and clean.
