LF043 - Tennessee Coneflower (L. Echinacea tennesseensis)

This bracelet almost looks like a watch at first glance because of its dial-like design. The way each petal has been carved into the silver causes the light to bounce around in the flower. The flower is approximately 2cm in diameter and the bracelet is 7.5" in length. Please inquire about shorter or longer lengths.

This piece is inspired by the Tennessee Coneflower ( Echinacea tennesseensis) which is part of the Sunflower (Asteraceae) family, as evident within its central spiral of cones. The Tennessee Coneflower is one of the rarest flowers in the United States. Known only to grow within a 30 kilometer radius in Middle Tennessee; specifically within less than 10 locations in Davidson, Wilson, and Rutherford Counties; this small, pastel pink flower was the second plant ever listed as ‘endangered’ by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in 1979, previously having been pushed close to extinction by ever-increasing housing developments. Being part of the genus Echinacea, the Tennessee Coneflower faces a further threat to its existence due to its application in medicine.
