Estimated value:$150.00

This is a two blade knife. One for cutting and one as a scaler.

The knife is appx. 4- 1/4 inches long closed. In great condition.

Go check and find the only American made knives being made now and they start at $130 and climb to $250. This knife is not exactly as nice as some of those high-end knives but is worth more than $50.

From the original shipping box that should have been sent to a bait store. This knife does NOT come with a box. These were packed 24 knives to a box and they were sold by bait stores from a counter display.

From speaking with a guy that once was a production manager with Providence, they made 12,000 of these knives and almost everyone who went fishing in the 60's had one of these cutter / scaler knives in their tackle box.

The Providence knife company was founded by the three Paolantonio brothers in 1916. They sold the company in 1925 then founded Colonial Cutlery in 1926.

From 1925 until 1985 they made many knives that were of good quality and have stood the test of time for functionality.

Providence won accounts for military knives and even boy scout knives.

In 1985 the company dissolved when challenged with new less expensive knives made in Japan and eventually China. All Providence knives were made in the USA.

Composition is a type of Plastic and this knife does NOT have ANY ivory as per the law requires disclosure. We do not sell Ivory items.

Check that other big "e" auction site and see a rusty one selling/sold for $50!!! This is UNUSED and in MINT condition.

The main blade is marked "PROV. CUTLERY" PROV. R.I. U.S.A." on the tang.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I have more than one of these and so the image above is a sample photo. You get this exact design and color and everything you see. The only difference is, any spots you see in the photos above on the blades or anything will be cleared and yours will be MINT.
