Modernist studio art pottery tray and pitcher, made in Switzerland, circa 1970s. Dynamic forms fashioned from rolled slabs of earthenware clay. Decorated boldly with subway tile designs.

Compelling inscribed tile decoration in white and lemon yellow over black. The black underglaze is visible in the bubbles of the white and yellow "tiles."

The tray measures 12 inches long x 10.5 inches high at the sides, which are rolled up scoop-fashion. The pitcher measures 6 inches high and 3 inches diameter at the base.

Each marked as made in Switzerland. The platter has a raised "76" near the inscription.

Immaculate vintage condition. This set appears to have been acquired for display only by a family member of the estate from which it came.
