This Handmade Ceramic Besamim - Havdalah Spice Holder measures 3" X 2 1/2".
It was wheel thrown of stoneware clay, and finished in a warm orange, lead free glaze.

If you're unfamiliar with its use -

It has long been customary to beautify and honor the Mitzvah of Havdalah - the ceremony marking the end of the Jewish Sabbath - by placing spices in an artistically beautiful spice box, called a besamim.
The besamim is then handed around, allowing each person to smell the sweet spices, to remind them of the sweetness of the Sabbath.

This besamim box fits comfortably in your hands - a treat for the sense of touch, along with the sense of smell.

This piece could also be used decoratively in the home - holding potpourri - the choice is yours!
