This burlap firewood log tote is made from a Panamanian coffee sack. It is approximately 27” wide by 36” long with 2” wide handles. The front retains the original red and blue coffee grower’s logo and reads “Cafe de Panama, Casa Ruis. S., Bouquetoka Estate". Additional green print indicates shipping destination "N York".

The top and bottom of the upcycled tote has solid oak dowels sewn in to help the bag retain its shape while carrying heavy loads of firewood. The reinforced burlap handles (20” long) are rolled and stitched for comfort even for smaller, more petite grips. The sides are the original woven fabric edges of the burlap coffee sack. The back is plain.

Java Jayne products are inspired by a good cup of coffee and a spirit of sustainability. I source the burlap material from local coffee roasters to reclaim the large jute shipping bags in which they receive their coffee beans. This saves the bags from entering the waste stream.

I then use the burlap material to create unique, one-of-a-kind items that are cherished, useful and best of all, recycled. Coffee sacks are gently washed to remove travel dust, and are air dried prior to stitching. Inconsistencies in burlap are from the nature of the burlap itself or from its former life as an International coffee bean sack.

They're the perfect gift for the coffee lover or closet Barista in your life.
