Unique zebra print rotary dial telephone, in good vintage condition, some paint loss mostly on the receiver, some scuff marks and scratches. It's made with a heavy plastic with brass accents, some of the brass pieces look a little pitted and there was a plaque or something that was attached to the front of the phone but is missing. The mouth piece is a little loose but I'm not sure if it's supposed to be that way. It's from the 1960's to 1970's, it was modified in 1978 with the regular plugin phone jacks of today. This phone works great, I plugged it right into the wall jack and got a dial tone, made a call, and also received a call, works just fine, the ringer is really loud but there is an adjustment on the bottom of the base to lower it. I have seen this model of telephone on the internet but I haven't seen one with the zebra print, this could be a rare find. On the bottom it says New York Telephone Co. pat. pending, made in Japan.
Dimensions: the receiver measures almost 10" across, The base of the phone is about 6" by 7", the total height is 6", and it weighs almost 4 1/2 lbs. This is one of the coolest vintage phones I have ever seen.
