A Kurgan is a type of burial mound found commonly on the Eurasian Steppe.

This small felt bag is wet felted of qiviut fleece on Spaelsau batting with the addition of a small amount of apple-green Merino roving. Qiviut is a soft luxury fiber from a musk ox. Spaelsau comes from a Norwegian coarse-fleeced sheep. Spaelsau is a rather hairy wool, but the addition of the Qiviut makes it extremely soft. There is a ceramic pendant on the front. The long cord is a four-strand braided soft cotton ribbon with a felt bead on the end.

This bag is unique in construction. The finished felt was cut into strips and reassembled perpendicular to the original plane. This produced a more three dimentional bag and gives it a striped look. It is 7.5" x 4" x 1", unlined.

Consider hanging it on the wall to hold your precious items or as a small work of art. Think of it as a small felt basket rather than a bag. It can also be worn around the neck.
