This vintage 1920s Evening in Paris cobalt blue perfume bottle with glass stopper has its original foil label, “Evening in Paris Bourjois New York -- Paris," completely intact. The bottle and label are in near-mint condition. This is an older 1920s example because it has the triangular-shaped label.

The bottle is approximately 2 and 3/4 inches tall when the stopper is in place; about 1 and 1/4 inches wide; and about 1/4 inch thick.

The very tip end of the stopper that extends inside the bottle appears to have been broken off. Down inside the bottle are what might have been that very tip end along with, possibly, an inner lining of the bottle's opening. None of this appears from the outside, though, and at first glance, the stopper, which is still quite long, appears fine because the end is not jagged.

It is my guess someone tried to take the stopper out before it was fully clear of the lip of the bottle and that tip got stuck inside the inner lip. The only way, then, for the former owner to continue to use the perfume was to push the broken tip and back into the liquid and the inner liner went with it as it was pushed in. As you can see form Image 3, though, there is no indication when viewing the bottle or stopper of any breakage in the past.

When seated, the stopper does wiggle a tiny bit if you move the bottle back and forth, indicating that what is in the bottom of the bottle, besides the tip end of the stopper, is indeed the inner ring lining that would have held the stopper more snuggly in place. Even with this minute issue, though, the stopper gives every appearance of still being the complete full length and in perfect working order. And of course when displayed, everything is right on the money in appearance. This is a fabulous piece.

This will make a fabulous addition to your perfumes and cosmetics collectables.

I have had this in my collection of vintage perfumes and cosmetics for decades, but it is time for me to downsize to make some room. If you like vintage perfume, cologne, and cosmetics bottles and containers, keep an eye on my Etsy shop. I am posting my entire 40-year collection.

Thanks for looking!
