Primitive Antique Textile is Peruvian. Hand woven, even the backing is finely woven. Four women in vegetable dyed clothing must represent a unified front. These pieces were used in ceremonies. Their faces and garments reflect patience in constructing. There is a loop at top that must have either been worn or hung. The fiber content looks like a hemp or linen and on backside there is a bit of straw showing, so I imagine the artist used whatever was in her/his environment.
