Absolutely amazing 1920s cocoon coat in black wool, velvet, and
emerald green satin. The coat has soutache details, including a rather
elaborate section on the back of the coat that is set off by the green
satin inset. The coat has very deep cut armholes, tapered sleeves,
and a true cocoon cut. Black velvet adorns the shoulders and runs
vertically down part of the back and front of the coat. The sleeves are
trimmed in green satin and the entire lining is also composed of
this bold, beautiful, and soft fabric. The coat closes with hidden hooks
and eyes near the waist and hips and a tab and button near the

The condition of this coat is rather remarkable. The wool and velvet
are in excellent condition showing little to no wear. The coat has
no moth damage, no stains, and no tears or damage to the wool
or velvet. The satin section on the back has, however, seperated
from the neckline and the edge of the satin is raw. The lining too
has deteriorated at the neckline and seperated from the coat. It is
only precariously attached from the neckline seperation to about
16" from the back of the neck on both sides. The lining, however,
is attached throughout the rest of this very voluminous coat. The
edges of the satin cuffs also show considerable wear. The coat is,
in my opinion, totally wearable as is and it is an excellent candidate
for repair and restoral.

label: none

approximate size: It think this coat will fit well in the medium/large range.

shoulders: approx. 16"/17"
bust: the deep dolman sleeves attach to the coat closer to the waist
than to the bust so this is a hard measurement to take. I think the
coat should fit just fine up to 40" or 42". I have a 38" bust and the
coat seems to fit well but there is room to fill.
hips: up to 46"
length: 54"
