This is a pair of gelatin monotypes using pressed plants (this is turks cap from my hummingbird garden) to obtain botanical silhouettes and plant details on vintage dictionary paper (the silhouette) and rice paper (plant details).

Multiple pairs of these prints would add fabulous ambiance to decorate a hip boutique or restaurant. Convo me for group pricing. So far I have created over 80 prints. Instant decor for your new shop!

Each page is 11 x 17 inches.

Pairs can be made by using two silhouettes on vintage dictionary sheets or one silhouette paired with its positive detailed print on rice paper as seen here.

Convoy me if you prefer of different paring.

The process is called gelatin monoprinting. I cooked up a batch of concentrated gelatin, yes “jello” (convoy me if you want the recipe and directions). Once the slab sets you ink it up like any other printing plate and you can take paint away with a brush or block the ink with a stencil (in this case a pressed leaf) for the botanical delight).

Here's a blog some friends and I posted on the process: http://4alchemists.wordpress.com/
