For all you Blue Ridge collectors…look what I found!

This set of two Blue Ridge dinner plates are done in the Poinsettia pattern, and done in the Colonial designed surface. Both plates are in excellent condition, with the exception of one small chip found on the back edge of one... not noticeable from the front.(see pics, no biggie!) The Poinsettia pattern on these plates consists of the Red “flowers” two toned green leaves and green vines.

Each plate measures 9 ½” in diameter, and stamped on the back; Blue Ridge, Hand Painted, Under glaze, Southern Potteries, Inc., Made in the USA

Blue Ridge 101...

Blue Ridge dinnerware was made by Southern Potteries, Inc. of Erwin, Tennessee from 1917 until 1957. Starting out as Clinch field Pottery, it changed its name to Southern Potteries on April 8, 1920.
Decal decorated hotel pieces and semi vitreous dinnerware were its early specialties. (Advertising on plates, bowls and ashtrays are primarily sought after by collectors from that period). Later it branched out to under glazed hand painting dinnerware.
The Blue Ridge dinnerware line was first introduced in 1930. By the early 1950's more than 4,100 patterns had been produced. In 1942 a line of china was added.
The most desirable decorations are people, animals, HOLIDAY THEMES, indoor themes, and outdoor structures.
