Well my friends, we have finally arrived at the much anticipated event of the past millennia.
Much disputed and discussed, the year 2012 is upon us.
And while nothing is certain, it cannot be argued that we are all alive in an equally incredible and catastrophic time.

While certainly no expert on the topic, from what I understand, the much discussed "mayan prediction" is refrencing the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar and the Popul Vuh- a book of creation accounts of the Maya. I wont go into it too much, but basically it is explains that we are living in the "4th world" (there are cycles) and the big cycle we are living in currently ends on December 20th 2012 and the new world begins on the 21st (this is also the date of the Winter solstice).

I am not mayan, nor necessarily believe in this prediction, however, I do believe that a great shifting is currently in the works, and is it just me, or does it feel like we are nearing a boiling point? Global climate change, extreme weather, global economic collapse, massive protests on every continent, and extreme hunger, poverty, inadequate health care..it goes on and on...

I chose the phrase "The Beginning is Near" from some signs I have been seeing at the Occupy Wall Street protests. I like the idea of rephrasing and rethinking this notion of "the end of the world" and actually collectively coming up with ideas and solutions on what parts of the world we want to end and the parts we want to create. To plant. To grow. To change.
2012 Born Ready. Because we were born ready to create a world worth living in. We were born ready to be part of a new era that puts people and nature and spirit and art and education and love before profit, commodification, racism, greed and hatred.

The Beginning is Near.
We are all a part of it.
Lets make it happen!

Are you ready?

whatever its just a wall poster 11x17, arrives flat, screeprinted...
