I've never seen another one like this (and neither had the auctioneer)! This is from the late 1800's, from Ontario, Canada. It has receipts in it from a local cheese company, a price list from the Toronto Tea Company, and one from the Canadian Bank of Commerce. These will be included, of course, since they're part of the mystery and pleasure of such a piece.

It has six layers of six receipt holders that are hinged so that they fold forward, so that you can use each level (hope that make sense, I can send you a photo). The holders have letters on them. I'm not sure if it was for a business or personal, but all of the receipts are for a Charles Meadow and those for the Kohler cheese factory look to be for a large amount so perhaps he ran a restaurant. All of the receipts in the file are from the 1870s.

Size: 22" x 15" x 6"

Materials: wood, metal and paper

Condition: very good antique condition. There is a crack in the wood on one side, but it does not effect it's use. This is a very sturdy piece and could be used for your own filing or as a display piece (could hold drawings, photos, jewelry, etc.)

I have more photos, I just couldn't fit them in the listing. Let me know if you would like to see others.

Please contact me with any questions, thanks!
