That's what she said green cross stitch, completed with flower motif in secondhand frame

---The Story---

Soon you'll never have to reply "that's what SHE said" again -- you can just point to the wall.

I've made several of these for friends all over the country. Those friends report that they've gained instant rapport with guests who, upon seeing the cross stitch, instantly begin spouting innuendos and proclaiming jealousy of the cross-stitch owners, alternately (or in the case of the more savvy guests, simultaneously).

For a more manly version (i.e. to spruce up a bachelor pad, or gift to that teenage nephew and secure the title "coolest aunt/uncle OF ALL TIME"), check out the clovers motif, linked to in "The Links" below.

---The Deets---

Each "That's What She Said" cross stitch will be made to order.

*FRAME: You have the option of receiving it either simply on counted cross stitch cloth, mounted on self-stick mounting board, or framed in a unique, straight-from-the-Goodwill, probably-tastefully-pre-distressed frame. (The frames pictured are examples of Goodwill frames.)

The frame is free to you; let me know if you have any preferences in materials (wood, metal) or basic color, and I'd do what I can to accommodate your wishes! If you end up not liking it, no harm done -- the stitch will come right out on its mounting board, ready for you to pop into a same-size frame of your choice.

Please note that orders outside the U.S. will NOT ship framed, since the shipping costs become prohibitive.

*CUSTOMIZE: I've listed a few different color schemes separately for convenience and picture-showing. You're welcome to request blues, purples, oranges, whatever, and the motif of your choice.

*SHIP: This design will be completed and in the mail (USPS first class with delivery confirmation or international first class) within about a week of your order unless I convo you otherwise or a delay is noted in my shop policies, banner, or announcements (below the banner).

Outside the U.S., this stitch will come mounted and ready to frame, but will NOT include a frame due to shipping costs. The shipping cost listed shows the cost of unframed international shipping.

You will not receive an email from me if everything's on time and all set. Etsy will send you a purchase confirmation and when the package goes out, you'll get another email with the tracking number so we can both track it on its way to you.

---The Legal Stuff---

I love hilarious, ironic cross-stitch, and this design was invented by a process of trial and error with needles and thread rather than planned out on paper. It's available as an instantly downloadable PDF here on Etsy for just a few bucks.

This design is copyright Alicia Watkins 2010.

Frequently asked questions about aliciawatkins

I love to do custom work during the non-holiday months! I try to work on one custom project at a time so that I can give each project my full customizing attention; as a result, a significant lead time on deadlines for receiving your custom order is very much appreciated.

If possible, try to contact me at least a month in advance of a deadline for receiving a 5x7 custom cross stitch. (That said, if you're in a pinch and you know I'm the stitcher for the job, convo me anyway! If I happen to be in between custom orders, I can often get things out in a much shorter time, and like I said, I love working with customers on personalized stitchery.)
Most of my small finished cross stitches have an option for gift wrapping.

If you don't see a drop-down list as you purchase a small hooped or framed cross stitch (smaller than 4x6), but you would like your item to be wrapped in plain paper (with a small notecard for your message included), request gift wrap as you check out in the "notes to seller"!

If you're having your gift sent directly to the recipient, please double-check the address it's going to before you finish checking out, and let me know what you'd like me to write in the notecard to your recipient! :)
Mini kits are available for wholesale ordering at any time; contact me for details on which kits I have available with shelf-ready labeling, and for pricing details!

I also offer a selection of finished cross stitch available for wholesale or certain consignment situations, for stores that feel my work would be a good fit. Contact me if you're interested in carrying my work in your store, and we'll talk about what I've done in the past and what you're looking for! :)
I believe in using secondhand frames because it's eco-friendly, supports my local thrift shops, and allows me to frame your items, if you'd like that, at very low cost.

Because they are unique and unapproved by you, I don't pass on the cost of the secondhand frames to you, except for the cost of shipping (usually about a $2 difference).

When you order an item from me, rest assured that you are only paying for the stitchwork, and you may treat the frame as a "suggestion" -- if you don't like it, give the frame away! Your 4x6 or larger cross stitch will come with a mounting board that will allow you to easily pop it out of the "suggested" frame I've sent it in and into any same-sized frame of your choice.
I can't send you a photo of your options for 4x6 or larger frames; I have too many frames and a too quickly rotating stock for that. However, you're welcome to let me know your preferences in color and material (i.e. wood, metal, plastic) and I'll do what I can to accommodate your wishes.

If you receive your stitchwork and you HATE the frame I chose from my cache of secondhand frames, never fear! The stitching for a 4x6 or larger frame will be mounted on a board that you can simply pop out of the secondhand frame you received, and pop INto a frame you choose from a local store, another Etsy seller, or anywhere you find perfect frames.

Because the secondhand frames I send are free, I cannot offer replacements or frame-related refunds.
Google and Youtube are your BFFs in learning to cross stitch, but if you've purchased a kit or pattern from my shop, I can also offer you a Basic Cross Stitch instruction booklet via email. Just let me know you'd like one, and I'll send it along! :)
