Fall Scene on Warranted Superior Antique Saw Blade
Materials: metal, wood, acrylic
Height: 6 inches
Width: 29 inches
Fall trees at the height of color surround a doe and fawn browsing at late dawn in green fields along the fence line of a gravel road. This fall countryside scene is painted on an antique Warranted Superior sawblade. It's about 6 inches at the tallest point of the saw and about 29 inches from edge of the handle to tip. The saw handle is left natural with only a clear coat over the patina, the Warranted Superior stamped emblem is intact. I found the rusty saw hanging on the wall, along with several others in the "red shed" here at Cordes Farm- it used to serve as a poultry barn for the folks that owned the property in the 1960's-70's.
The saw was scrubbed clean, pre-sealed with a white rust inhibitor primer, then I painted the countryside scene in acrylic. It's finished off with several coats of crystal clear, non-yellowing top coat to protect the painting. While sealed and water-resistant, I would still recommend keeping this indoors, out of direct sunlight, in a climate controlled setting to preserve the life of the painting.
There's lots of detail in this one and the colors are very vibrant. It would make a great addition to any fall-lovers' art collection!
All of my saw blades all hand painted, each one is original and unique, artwork is by BeLinda Cordes from BelleOfDirt.com.
These are not replicas- they are REAL saw blades, used in the shop at one time, and will still have some sharp edges. Please take care when handling them or hanging on the wall!
