This one of a kind reversible pendant is made with two glass buttons peyote stitched together with size 11 Miyuki beads and embellished with size 15 beads, glass drop beads, two aurora glass crystal beads and a freshwater pearl. One side has an icy blue button accented with green lined drops, the other an emerald green accented with gold lined drops. The pendant measures 1 1/8" across and from the top of the bail to the bottom of the pearl, it is 2". The 19 1/2" bead woven necklace has a foundation of size 8 iridescent peacock blue beads and is worked with a right angle weave on both sides. One side is worked with size 15 orange beads, and the same size beads in green on the other side. The cones are tribal hills silver, and the toggle clasp is nickel free pewter.

This kind of beadwork is very time consuming. I estimate I have invested about 10 hours in this piece. I loved watching how each layer of beads changed the look and feel of the work. For the amount of beads in this, it is surprisingly light weight.

I am indebted to Melanie Doerman for inspiring me with her beadwork. I learned how to make the pendant from a kit I bought from her a few years ago. She made lovely and intricate pieces. Give her website a visit: http://www.themagpie.com/index.htm .
